The disc camera became available in 1982 and was on the market until about 1990. It has been mistakenly called the Kodak Disk Camera probably due to the computer age and the floppy disk but its official name is actually disc with a "c". Kodak pioneered the disc camera but they were soon followed by many other big name brands including Argus, Bushnell, Minolta, and Olympia as well as a host of less popular brand names. The disc format of the camera did not stand the test of time. The cameras were compact and easy to use but the picture quality from the discs was never near the quality of a 35mm camera. I personally owned a Kodak disc camera, model unknown, and took many great pictures. I was happy with the camera but I guess I just followed the mainstream, replaced the disc with a 35mm, and moved on.
